About the Publisher

Hi, I'm Thom Klos and I'm no stranger to the automotive industry. My father, Walter, was a mechanic, body man, welder and fabricator who learned his craft in France and Germany before bringing his knowledge and skills to Canada in the mid 1950s. Starting in the summer of 1974, I worked in the bodyshop of BC Mack where my father was the General Manager. Under his hand, I learned how to apply filler, sand, mask and prep cars and trucks for painting. Knowing that every surface needed to be completely smooth and blemish free, I quickly began to appreciate the work that goes into repairing and restoring a vehicle to perfection.

I went on to become a commercial graphic designer and those skills that I developed working with my father have carried me through my career. It's creativity and passion that fuels a person's dreams. My dream has been to publish a magazine dedicated to the artistry, innovation and dedication of the auto lifestyle. Vancouver Island MUSCLE CARS & Hot Rods is the realization of that dream and is dedicated to my late father.

I'm a freelance professional involved in the design and print industry. My expertise include graphic design, printing, advertising, marketing, sales and signage. My passion lies in impactful design and cutting edge print techniques.
